I am writing for information on commercial grade music box mechanisms.
We are in the early design phase of a product which will require
a wind-up mechanical music device.  Would you let me know the major
world sources for high quality music box mechanisms?

Although it is early to predict, we are anticipating the need for
1000-5000 boxes with enclosures or mounting encasements.

I know that this may not be your main interest but we will appreciate
referral to the appropriate manufacturer.
