I wonder if one of the wiser and more experienced folks out there
can help out. I'm recovering the air motor in the Aeolian organ
I'm rebuilding, which was originally covered with a light-medium weight
cloth. I have some very nice material from PPCo that is probably 25
years old that looks and feels perfect.
Figuring that 25-year-old cloth is already 25 years old, I ordered some
new material from Schaff which looks very nice, but is filled with
pinholes (the starry night effect when held up to a strong light).
So -- should I use the old and impervious stuff, the new leaky stuff,
or can someone suggest a source for new, non-leaky cloth? At 50-60
bucks a shot to order a yard of cloth, I really don't want to try too
many more experiments.
Cheers!
