Cuendet Cylinder Musical Box
By info@romfi.com

Jules Cuendet was a fairly large Swiss music box manufacturer making
all types of cylinder music boxes. Their most impressive box was
a (large) Duplex Mandolin Zither that played on two cylinders
simultaneously. The cylinders were naturally in sync though not
identically pinned. This gives a rich and fuller tone.

I have two Cuendet catalogs (in various stages of falling apart) and
if you would like to send a photo, I could try to match your box with
what's in the catalog (if it's from the same time, of course).

If you are interested in seeing and hearing some mechanical music
instruments, here's some highlights of postings this last week on
ROMFI (www.romfi.com):

- Hupfeld Phonoliszt
- Hupfeld Helios II/26
- Chordeophon Automatic Zither
- Decap Dance Organ
- Accordeo Boy
- Debain Piano, which plays wooden planks with metal projections. Try
to operate a Debain -- it makes one eternally grateful for paper rolls!

If you like you can add items into ROMFI. It's free and by building up
an online catalog that can be added to and modified we can enhance the
knowledge about our hobby.

Thanks & happy collecting
