Dear MMD members,  Christie's spring sale of mechanical music, automata
and amusement machines takes place on 20 May, 2003, in London.

185 lots, including many cylinder and disc musical boxes, fine
automata, singing bird boxes, talking machines and accessories, vintage
amusement machines, barrel organs and a section of ornamental turning
lathes by Holtzappfel.  Highlights include:

Lot 912: An enamel and silver gilt bird box by Rochat.
Lot 929: An exceptional weight-driven organ clock secretaire by Kaufmann.
Lot 945: A John Dennison coin-operated fortune teller automaton.
Lot 988: A Nicole Freres orchestral musical box with eight cylinders
Lot 1016: A Renou acrobate automaton.
