Piano Rolls Transcribed by Paul Manganaro
By J. B. Roth

Hello Everyone, I've had about ten of my favorite piano rolls
MIDI-fide by Paul Manganaro. He's done me a wonderful favor. The
songs have given me great joy, and I thank him again. They sound
really terrific when I connect the computer to my big stereo system.

You can hear them and see the labels at

"Blaze Away" on the Otto Higel roll was lent to me via QRS by Terry
Smythe about 15 years ago for making copies. I've enhanced that too,
by adding some bass notes and extending a few trills. This dynamic
march can also be heard on Terry Smythe's web site,
http://www.mts.net/~smythe/

I've tried to enhance all the rolls by accentuating the melodies when
it seemed that they were drowned out by the accompaniment and
embellishments. This was especially necessary with the "Battle of
Gettysburg" roll (QRS Story Roll D-131).

I worked in the Piano Roll editing mode of Cakewalk 6.0 to do this.
Oh! What fun! Really!!

I hope you all enjoy the rolls as much as I do.

Regards,
J. B. Roth (AKA Ben Roth)
