On Ed Sprankle's question about Caliola roll No. 6005 (issued by
Ray Siou as No. 35), the labels I have seen on the Siou recut differ
in the identity of song #10 as per Ed's message:
Wurlitzer Caliola Roll
Play-Rite Reissue No. 35
(From Original Roll No. 6005 - Incomplete Information):
1. Unknown Selection
2. Unknown Fox Trot
3. Laugh, Clown, Laugh
4. Unknown Fox Trot
5. Unknown Fox Trot
6. Unknown Fox Trot
7. Unknown Fox Trot
8. Unknown Waltz
9. Unknown Fox Trot
10. She Belongs To Me
It may be possible that a different version of the recut (with songs
juxtaposed) was issued. I don't know of any 5- or 10-tune APP roll
which matches this Caliola tune line-up. However, there is one 5-tune
APP roll which matches song #3, "Laugh, Clown, Laugh", and it's
possible that this roll contains some of the unknown songs on Caliola
# 6005:
Wurlitzer 65N Player Piano
Second Series No. 082
1. Coquette ft
2. Luscious ft
3. Laugh, Clown, Laugh w
4. An' Furthermore ft
5. Back In Your Own Back Yard ft
All of these tunes are very well known except for #2, possibly one of
the unknown fox trots.
All best,
Frank Himpsl
