Hi everyone, Well, Six Flags amusement park strikes again! I am in
Louisville, Kentucky, on business, and on my day off I went to the
Six Flags park here in Louisville -- what a disappointment.
What really got me upset enough to write to you all is because I went
to the carousel and saw a carousel organ in disrepair and not being
used. This disgusted me since these band organs are very rare. What
we need to do as a group is write to Six Flags and express our opinion
on how they treat these instruments and, if they are not going to be used,
then to donate them to a museum or someone that will put them to good
use, instead of using them as a piece of art to take up space. I was
very upset to see that organ just sitting there and not being used or
even looking like it was restored. What a waste.
The next time I go to Six Flags down here I will take pictures and post
them here so you can see the horrible condition that the organ is in.
We as a group have to make some kind of stand against this travesty and
abuse of mechanical music machines! I personally am going to ask them
to donate it to the museum of Worcester, or try to offer them some
money to take it home and restore it, or convince them that they are
ruining a valuable treasure that can never be replaced.
Make a call, write, do whatever you can to help save these treasures
from the money-hungry theme park called Six Flags. Oh, and I don't
recommend visiting the theme park down here, it really stinks --
it's small and most of the rides break down a lot.
Sincerely, Jeff Bridges
