Locating Leaks in Ampico Player System
By Wolfgang Schorer

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

Hello, everyone: A friend of mine has an Ampico Grand 1923. He
asked me to retube it. I did so. However, the system is not working.
When playing a test roll (for type A & B combined), the keys go down
a little, but not strong enough to produce a sound.

I also exchanged the old big elbow connectors. They were so
deteriorated that they partially dissolved to dust. I learned that
somebody, before I started to retube, turned on the grand. I fear
that the dust might be distributed through the system.

I have no idea where to start for seeking for leaks. Therefore,
my question: What can I do to find out where the problem might be?

Thank you.
