Organ Pipes of MDF Board
By piratemarine@hotmail.com

Hello from the Isle of Man Organbuilders! Re info from Hans Van Oost
(020924 MMDigest) and others, has anyone any further observation on the
construction of pipes from MDF, and has anyone a source of supply for 2
mm MDF sheet?

We currently service and repair 50+ pipe organs of varying provenance
in our small island and are building a three-rank box organ with 4-foot
flute and stopped diapason in MDF throughout, up to g56 at 4-foot
pitch. These pipes are now made and seem eminently satisfactory. (The
third 2-foot rank is in polished metal.) Any comments gratefully
received.
