New England Music Rolls Is Closing August 2003
By Karl Ellison
August 31, 2003 will be the last day that player piano rolls will be
shipped from "New England Music Rolls".
It was fun while it lasted but I've become bored with the minutia --
it's frankly ceased to be fun for me. I'll be devoting my energies to
other mechanical music and other interest efforts. I may exhume the
business at a later date if situations change, but have no future plans
at the moment.
The "Complete List" page of the web site shows available quantities, and
I'll update these figures when I can. Once rolls are gone "that will
be it" as these titles were produced under special permission from QRS
and other various private rights holders. I also own the re-created
masters to these rolls which will not leave my possession or be sold
without the rights holder's knowledge and permission.
I would encourage you to place a snail-mail order before this date,
after which this web site and it's email address will vanish from
cyberspace. If an item is sold-out by the time I receive your check
I'll immediately refund you for the outage -- first come, first served.
Overseas orders would best email ahead before sending money.
I'll probably bring any remaining stock to the 2003 AMICA convention
and sell them off at the MART. My earnest goal is to have "zero
inventory" at close-of-business 8/31.
For a fast-closing opportunity to view and buy some very up-beat,
well-orchestrated and interesting 88n/Ampico/Welte titles -- before
they disappear, perhaps forever -- visit
