Hi All, I recently purchased some very fine (looking) motor cloth
from Schaff. The quality is similar to that of their thin striker
cloth and I was very impressed upon receiving it. Obviously, I can
only attest to its initial quality (the purple cloth was also very nice
upon its arrival) and only time will tell how it does in the long haul.
Just another option to think about.
I also wanted to comment on the thread from the gentleman who was
contemplating on whether or not to take the upright Knabe. I say,
"Take it!" We all know that these things are getting rarer all the
time and everyone that goes to the dump is one more that will not be
preserved for posterity.
If that is not an option, someone else might be willing to give it a
good home. I will put my money where my mouth is and say that if it
is a days drive or less from Pittsburgh, PA, I will go save it myself.
I commend this gentleman for his concern for the preservation of what
amounts to (in my mind, anyway) a historic artifact. If everyone
thought like this, the world would be a far more interesting place.
