I had a phone call from a customer who said she just received her
player piano and it had a few plastic parts laying in the bottom. When
I got there, I found a 1980-ish Universal, with the sections of the
pneumatics made from plastic, not wood. There were not just a few
plastic pieces laying in the bottom, but perhaps one-third of all the
tabs that are usually wood and also screwed as well as glued to the
pneumatic. However, these are just glued, plastic to plastic.
The piano was moved from California to Seattle in a pick-up truck.
Possibly they fell off in the shaky move. Perhaps, too, they've been
falling all along.
Does anyone have any suggestion as to what glue is best to reattach
the parts? I have some ideas of my own but I would like to hear from
anyone with prior experience with this problem.
