Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg, PA
By Larry Toto
What a great place Knoebel's Grove is! We drove from Philadelphia.
I have been there twice with kids in tow and the feeling I had was
of going back to an earlier time. The cost of rides _and_ food are
surprisingly low.
The park is nestled in a tree covered valley that provides plenty of
shade while walking through the park. Bring your own food into the
park and settle down in one of the shady picnic areas to eat lunch.
Stay overnight in a cabin in the campground adjacent to the amusement
park. The experience was a joy and we talked about how great it was
for a long time. We have a favorite photo of all of us sitting in
front of the orchestrion, and we were all smiling for a good reason --
we were having a _great_ time.
Compare this to your typical 'Great Adventure Park' where prices are
steep and shade is scarce and by the end of the day you feel that you
were taken for a ride.
