Ed Gallagher and Al Shean teamed in 1910. Their big number,
"Absolutely Mr Gallagher - Positively Mr Shean!", was written by
Bryan Foy (who became a film producer) and was featured in the
Ziegfield Follies.
Their popularity was such that by 1921 the Keith booking office
limited vaudeville bills to only one Gallagher & Shean imitator.
The partnership broke up in 1925.
Al Shean (who was, incidentally, uncle to the Marx Brothers) died
in 1949. And Wellington, New Zealand (Middle Earth), uses the slogan
"Absolutely Positively Wellington."
