Hello, I saw your posting to the MMD list and thought I would
recommend "The Nethercutt Collection". It's a private museum right
around the corner from my office, in Sylmar, CA, near Los Angeles.
They have a _wonderful_ collection of antique mechanical musical
instruments, including many orchestrions, Ampico reproducing pianos,
a large Wurlitzer pipe organ, and many other interesting and unique
pieces.
In addition to all this, there's a world-class collection of vintage
and classic automobiles, primarily from before the 1940s. Everything
is kept in running condition, and admission is free, although you need
to call ahead for a tour reservation for the musical instrument section
of the tour. Check it out at http://www.nethercuttcollection.org
