We are holding a mechanical organ gathering in the UK at the Thursford
Collection near Fakenham, Norfolk, and the Cotton Museum near Stowmarket.
The dates are 31 May and 1 June and we at Glajd UK are arranging meals
and accommodation for all who wish it. If you wish to co-host the
event with the Mechanical Organ Owners' Society (MOOS) and the
Fairground Organ Preservation Society (FOPS), then please let us know
at <tours@glajd.co.uk>
The Cotton museum near Stowmarket is close to the coast and can be
reached quite easily from the continent and there are connections from
airports, but in this case it is better to hire a vehicle as Norfolk is
a bit cut-off from the rest of the world.
Both museums have excellent mechanical organs which include Louis
Hooghuys, Gavioli, Marenghi, Limonaire, Bruder, Decap, Mortier, Carl
Frei, Wellershaus amongst others. It will be a day of mechanical music
only and a buffet will be given during the day at Thursford. Food can
be arranged for the day at the Cotton Museum.
With kind wishes to all
