Robbie Rhodes asked earlier this month who the principals of the
American International Galleries were, and in the MMD for December
9th, 2002, Brian Shaw named three of them: Q. David Bowers, Claes
Friberg, and Bonnie Textra. But he left out Terry Hathaway, who
was Dave Bowers' partner.
Terry's recollections on the subject make interesting reading.
They were originally published in an article titled "Memories
of a Collector" printed in one of Claes Friberg's Mekanisk Musik
Museum publications, but were expanded by Terry this year and
posted on his web site at this page:
http://www.hathaworld.com/music/articles/collmems.htm.
I was personally surprised and gratified to find in Terry's
reminiscences a description of the shop of Herbert N. Vincent,
whom I knew of as Ross R. Davis's organ man.
