I have to agree with John Tuttle's thoughts on the pneumatic player
piano. We routinely service, (in home) tune and repair 150 to 200
pneumatic player pianos in the Central Connecticut area each year.
In addition, there are always 4-6 instruments in the shop under going
major restoration work. Player Technicians who can tune, regulate
and repair player pianos are very busy.
I am happy to hear John's words of encouragement. Clearly the
solenoid pianos have had an impact on the pneumatic player piano,
but the customers who understand and appreciate history, seem willing
to invest the time and effort into service work.
