Dear Susan, There are many folks that are interested in trains and
mechanical music (and antique cars also). I am one and am aware of
a number of others.
My interest is in G scale railroading outdoors, called garden railroading.
Don Winter, who comments on this list, also makes G scale parts, and
Mike and Liz Barnhart have a nice musical instrument collection plus a
garden railroad. The late Harvey Roehl (Vestal Press) was an avid
railfan and N-scale model railroader. Ken Smith of Blacklick, Ohio,
has not only built several huge fair organs but has also built large
steam locomotives. One was featured in Model Railroader in 1972.
I would expect that your note to the MMD will bring a lot of
railroaders out of the woodwork.
