Instrument Collection near Berlin, Illinois
By Deane Wiley

I lived for many years in Edwardsville, Illinois, just a bit south of
Berlin. There was (is?) in fact a large collection of players, and
other mechanical musical instruments in what I would call a very large
Butler Building on one of the side streets in Berlin.

I visited this place several times, both to envy the collection and
to feel sad as to the general condition of the many instruments in the
place. There were at least seven or eight player grands and a myriad
of uprights and other things. The place was very large, and chock full
of musical "stuff".
