Hi there -- In reply to Stephen Lewin's question, I think the organ
you are speaking of is a 89-key Gavioli organ. Several years ago the
organ was given on loan to Circus World Museum in Baraboo, WI. At the
time it arrived it was in terrible shape. It immediately underwent a
complete restoration from top to bottom and was returned to its original
specifications, including restoration of the facade. Some new book
music was obtained with the help of Ken Smith and a new recording was
made of traditional circus tunes. This CD and cassette are available
from the museum gift shop. The organ is still there and is played in
concert each day.
The organ has also has been displayed in the past at The Great Circus
Parade in Madison, WI, which happens mid-summer. The organ is mounted
in its own traditional circus wagon also. I have seen and heard this
organ in person and it is quite something to see and hear.
