Piano Without a Player Action Is More Valuable
By Don Winter
Michael, I have given up on the sale of the Knabe Ampico. Looking
back, I have NEVER been able to sell a player grand regardless of price
or condition to the general public. I have always had to remove the
player. This particular piano is very nice, the best I have ever owned
out of say 25 grands. But the expression needs attention. The current
local sale fell through and I will simply remove the player, place it on
eBay and sell the piano for whatever I can get for it as a regular
grand. There is literally no more demand for these things. I am not
the least upset about it, but mechanical hobbies have been tanking just
like the Dow Jones! LOL
At my age, if I were to do another rebuild I would rather invest that
time in a 7' Mason and Hamlin B or something like that.
