Organ Pipes of MDF Board
By David Evans

Hi to Steve Lewin! A friend of mine tried that on a small band organ
(a fairground organ here in UK!). The material produces a very dead
sounding pipe with most overtones damped out, and sounds very poor.

A fine quality pitch pine is best and closest to what the old master
pipe makers used. I wouldn't bother using MDF if I were you -- the
results won't justify the time you will have spent on the project.
My main philosophy is use the correct materials -- the old boys didn't
arrive at their designs by accident!

Best wishes

David Evans in UK.
