The first organ rally ever for Illinois will be the located at the
Naper Settlement in Naperville. A fabulous C.O.O.A. sponsored organ
rally is planned as summer draws to a close, on September 20, 21, & 22,
2002.
The Naper Settlement is a lovely site where historic buildings have
been brought together to re-create a 19th century village. There are
plenty of great, shady sites where the band organs and the hand-cranked
organs will be showcased. Every September an old fashioned circus is
located in the center green of the village and the rally is planned for
that week-end. The circus performances are scheduled for Saturday the
21st at 11 AM, 2 & 5:30 PM, as well as Sunday the 22nd at 2 PM and
4:30 PM.
We will plan to play 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday & Saturday and from
1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday. Saturday morning at 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
there will be an old-fashioned elephant powered circus tent raising.
Naper Settlement would like some of to be around to interact with those
people who come to watch. Also there will be a Family Fun Night for
the circus under the "big top" and they would like some of us to be
around to play and interact at that time.
The Naper Settlement is in the heart of downtown Naperville, 30 miles
west of Chicago. The exact address is
523 South Webster Street
Naperville, IL, 60540.
