Thanks to everyone who gave replies with advice on audio to MIDI.
You all have talked me out of even trying. I feel I will be better
off just listening to my reel-to-reel audio tapes.
I will no doubt eventually buy some MIDI CDs from Peter Phillips in
Australia and Terry Smythe up in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. It appears like
making the MIDI files directly from the piano rolls is almost a perfect
system, which they both do. And then there is a kit coming to market
soon that you will be able to modify your Ampico or Duo-Art piano to
play pneumatically directly from the MIDI files. I forget the
gentleman's name that is going to market the kit but Terry Smythe has
his name available.
I did purchase the e-competition CD for $10 that Peter Phillips made
available via Terry Smythe, and think it is really neat and recommend
it to all you folks.
Incidentally, the web site address Peter Phillips supplied with the
CD didn't work, but after a little experimenting the following works:
