Oh, let us add even more to the mysteries of song and composer, since
I have a 12" Symphonion version of "Climbing Up the Golden Stairs".
It's done at a very fast clip (almost as a polka!) and the tune sheet
#3344 very clearly states "Climbing Up the Golden Stairs -- Scotch
Song", but alas no specific composer. (Somehow my notes included "C.A.
White 1873" as a reference, but I can't figure out where I got that.)
