Rebuilding Autopiano Secondary Valves
By Miguel de Mattos

Hi, I'm having some troubles restoring a Janssen player with Autopiano
double valve action. Everything possible was done and checked, but I
still have to pedal hard. There are no missing notes, and it's a nice
and responsive action, but it acts like a power step machine at this
moment.

The problems are at the secondary valves, for sure, because everything
else is vacuum-tight. These valves, composed of two metal discs, were
in bad condition; they were refaced and tested one by one, and they
looked okay at that time. As the gravity force doesn't help much in
this kind of valve systems, I kindly ask any advice on this matter.

Best regards
Miguel de Mattos
