Production Years of 8" Thorens Discs
By Claudine Jones

I'm doing my best to track down information for every tune in my
collection: composer, lyrics (if any), and other interesting historical
tidbits.

Now I find that one of my 8" Thorens discs, titled "Wanna Go Back
Again", is actually "You've Got Those Wanna Go Back Again Blues" and
there are piano rolls and 78-rpm records of the tune with lyrics played
by major bands like Ellington. The composer is not definite, however
my disc version definitely swings.

The question is, when did Thorens begin production of this size disc
and how late were they still being produced? In my estimation they are
superior to Regina discs of the same size.
