Stravinsky Piano Rolls in 1926 Pleyel Catalogue
By Julian Dyer

In light of the interest in this subject I have scanned in the listing
from the 1926 Pleyel catalogue and its (1927?) supplement.

Details here are as given in the catalogues, but presented differently
for clarity. The text "Adapte et enregistre par l'auteur" follows each
roll's entry in the original, rather than as the general header given
here, (except for the Sonata which is labelled "par l'auteur").

Issue dates have been added from a listing by Rex Lawson. All
accenting of the French has been omitted due to MMD's plain-text
restrictions.

Learned opinion is that roll "E8450 Ragtime" was not issued, as it
does not appear after the 1924 catalogue. It is listed here for
completeness. There were therefore a total of 50 issued rolls.

Rolls were also issued on the "Odeola" label using the same serial
numbers. Some rolls of "Petrouchka" and "Le Chant du Rossignol" were
also issued by "Victoria" of Barcelona, under different serial numbers.
The "L'Oiseau de Feu" was also issued as "The Firebird" by Aeolian in
the UK and USA on "Duo-Art" and "Pianola" labels, using the original
Pleyel masters but adding the Introduction that is omitted from the
Pleyel set.
