Hi all, I have been reading several days MMD postings and Jim Kenney's
request for player rebuilding information [020619 MMD] and, unless
I missed a day, I am surprised that no one has suggested Larry Given's
1963 book, "Rebuilding the Player Piano". Years ago I got my copy from
American Piano Supply and they may still have it in stock. However,
I have also found that many public libraries, large enough to have a
technical section, have at least one copy of the book. Also there is
Art Reblitz's book, "Player Piano Servicing & Rebuilding."
I am an AMICA member and I also enthusiastically encourage Jim to go to
a meeting. If he is like me he will be "hooked". However, serious and
comprehensive technical exchanges might take place outside the regular
meeting, so it would also be good for Jim to have some understanding of
terminology, player functioning, etc., before he starts asking the
interesting and inevitable questions.
