Weber Themodist Player Is Missing Controls
By Damon Atchison
I found a Weber player piano in a house in the island where I'm living
for the summer. It's got some type of a Themodist expression mechanism
and a large metal lever under the keyboard that I believe operates the
sustain pedal.
The player unit has been completely rebuilt and plays beautifully.
However, where the play controls usually are on players this one has
none. I have seen some play controls in the spoolbox, some that were
activated by sharps on the keyboard, however I can't find play controls
anywhere on this unit. There's the key lock under the keyboard and the
large rod that operates the sustain. Beyond that, there's nothing.
I can operate it by lifting up the front panel on the piano and moving
the control rods with my hand, but that's the only thing I've found that
works. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
