After much aggravation and money and time spent, and much of it on the
wrong "experts," I took down my website that I found totally useless
and I am putting up one that I have built myself. It has taken way
too long, but it has gone lots faster since I purchased a digital
camera. There may still be links that do not connect but I haven't
found them yet. If you do let me know.
There was one thing that was clear from a year of the old site and the
statistics of what surfers wanted to see the most. That is, you want
to see pictures. I have built my new site around many pictures of all
kinds of instruments and all kinds of procedures... large clear
pictures. I hope they don't take too long to load.
I have republished some of the items I have previously posted to MMD
and pianotech digest in an effort to answer questions that people had
concerning their instruments and supplies and tools and such. I may
have repeated the names of folks who asked the questions. If you find
your question and for some reason do not want to have your name or
question reprinted, please let me know and I will remove names and
questions and restate the question in my own words.
The forums and chat sections were useless and unused the way they were,
so they are gone. There is a feedback page for you to post your views.
Or you can always email me at the address at the bottom of each page
using your own email software.
Please go and look at the new site, visit the "WHAT'S NEW" page first.
The whole menu is down the left side written on piano keys.
Let me know (1) if it works, (2) if you like it, and (3) if it needs
something.
The Technical Tips section is accompanied by a wordy disclaimer in an
attempt to not have a novice ruin his/her piano. I do not have any
music in the site. That takes up bandwidth and can be annoying if you
are not expecting it or if your computer is slow. There are many
other sites that have music. I do not have any links at this time but
I should be a member of the player piano ring. My next email is to
John to see if that part of the page is working.
Let me know folks.
Thanks
