The Wurlitzer Factory still stands in North Tonawanda, N.Y., and almost
anyone in the town can tell you where it is. It is rather sad to see,
except for the great Wurlitzer tower. The building is largely empty or
used for warehouse space, with the front offices subdivided for various
businesses, largely unrelated to music.
The Wurlitzer Corporation of course went through bankruptcy and was
dissolved, its name being sold to Baldwin to keep it off the market.
Deutsche Wurlitzer still operates in Germany making and selling
jukeboxes, etc.
Farny Wurlitzer's lovely rose gardens leading up the esplanade to the
main factory are long gone and all in all it's a sad sight (or site)
to see.
