J. Lawrence Cook on "You Asked For It" TV Show
By Jeffrey Borinsky
Congratulations to Mike Meddings, Adam Ramet and all those involved in
finding this unique film of JLC. What Mike did not say in MMD 020505
was that about 70 of us in the Player Piano Group saw the film on
Saturday during our Annual General Meeting at the St Albans Organ Museum.
In the audience was Lisa Fagg, J. Lawrence Cook's grand-daughter. She
had not been told what was going to happen. I wish we had a picture of
her face when she saw the film!
We had a truly great evening; not just the JLC film but after dinner
Len Rawle gave us a stupendous demonstration of the art of the theatre
organist. With great humour and panache he played the museum's
Wurlitzer and Rutt organs to their utmost. You could hear the applause
in the next county.
