What I offer is a way to the solution for this request, not the
solution itself.
In 1993 there was a second joint meeting of AMICA and MBSI in Los
Angeles, which I attended. The table favour that year was a model
replica of a Seeburg KT Special, compleat with sound and lights. The
sound was a recording taken from the Special Roll made to go with the
Edgerton KT Special limited reproduction.
This music was on a micro mini cassette tape with a small piece of foil
spliced into it. When you pressed the start button (a small brass brad
made to resemble a control knob) the lights would come on and the music
would play. When the foil piece came by, it would automatically shut
the whole thing off.
The power source was three tiny pen light batteries in a holder 2 X
2-1/4 X 3/4. The entire tape player, amplifier, motor etc. with
cassette mounted is 2-1/2 X 2-1/2 X 2. The loudspeaker is 2" across
and 3/4" deep. The system also operates three tiny lights that
illuminated the "nickelodeon glass" front. These are all soldered in
-- no sockets.
These table favours were all hand made by committee members from either
or both AMICA/MBSI. I am sure with a few well directed inquiries,
someone from the Los Angeles area chapters will be happy to share their
"parts" source with you.
Kind thoughts - Ken Vinen, Stratford, Ontario Canada.
