Wayne Tougher wrote in the 020417 MMD, "In days gone by when
someone needed help to get something done his friends would help him
out (not with money necessarily but with labor and maybe a little
encouragement)."
I never seen it put more honestly than that! Thank you Mr. Tougher!
Now honestly guys (and gals), how many of you have asked Mr. Broadmoore
what can we do to help?
You know, we have a very noticeable lack of brotherhood here. Where
were _my_ "friends" when I fell on my butt? I'll tell you where most of
you where: afraid of what the "establishment", per se, would say! (And
I won't forget it, either.) Blast your so-called reputation, if you
are unwilling to help a friend In trouble.
But you know what? Not meaning to sound arrogant, but there is just
a very few of us who know how to arrange piano rolls or MIDI files,
and even fewer of us are willing to put forth the bucks like Larry
Broadmoore has, and bring us the PowerRoll.
Well, the PowerRoll has been rather a threat to roll makers, because
the PowerRoll will pay for itself. MIDI files are far cheaper to make
and to sell than a physical paper roll. Maybe that is partly all the
driving force behind all this hubbub. Check the MMD Archives. I myself
was rather critical of the PowerRoll at first. My articles speak for
themselves of my knowledge, and also of my ignorance.
There are two types of people in this world: people who make things
happen, and people who watch things happen (and then the latter sort
wonder what the H*ll happened)! Okay, you say I paid "X" for a PowerRoll,
and I didn't get it or it was defective. Okay, granted. Do you think
that Larry will rip any of you off? NO! He won't.
If half of you would put your darn money where your mouth was, the
PowerRoll would reach national markets! We can either elect to help
a fellow colleague, or we can bad-mouth him, so what do we want to do?
