Christmas Music on Nickelodeon Rolls
By Don Teach
Once again I'm trying to round up people that would like a great
Christmas A-roll. The basic draft of the roll has been located and it
now has to go to an arranger to finish. The original arranger was Dave
Junchen who is no longer with us, and we have found someone that shows
a lot of promise to finish the roll. The arranger has been working on
past rolls by Dave to learn his playing style so the roll will be a
real tribute to Dave.
If you would like to have your name placed on a list as a
possible buyer for this roll then please email me as soon as possible:
<donteach@shreveportmusic.com>. This roll will be a great deal of work
to bring to the market place and I hope to have at least 100 names on
the "want list" for this roll. I will have to sell 100 rolls to break
even. Every coin piano owner that likes A-roll music should place this
on his most wanted list.
I am also working on recutting a small group of "A" rolls and would
like to hear from anyone with an interest in this project as well.
If anyone knows of a super roll that has not been recut then please
contact me.
The rolls will be read into a computer to generate perforation files
for the greatest accuracy. Late Clark rolls have been found with a
Black and White label. These rolls are generally very poorly cut with
missing notes, lagging notes, and other problems. We hope to correct
these problems with the Richard Brandle software that is excellent.
The earlier Clark rolls with the orange label seem to have had more
time spent on them and I would like to borrow some of those early
rolls. Capitol rolls are always wanted.
Let me hear from you.
