A friend who does not have access to the Internet would like
information on an organ that he owns. He purchased it some time ago
from an antiques shop, as a hydraulics engineer he has been able to
check out the bellows and generally clean up the instrument but he
wants additional information. It has a mahogany case, approximate
size is 2 foot cube. Made by:-
Flight and Sons
From St Martins Lane
Organ Builders to his Majesty
16 King William St West Strand
London
It has 14 wooden pipes, 14 lead pipes, 1 triangle; hand-turned rocking
bellows feeding a spring loaded reservoir; 3 Stops (wooden pipes, lead
pipes, triangle); wooden barrel with brass pins (many of which are
broken). Ten Tunes :-
1. Pantalon 6. Finale
2. Sebe 7. Puritani
3. La Poula 8. March In
4. Trenise 9. Gallop
5. Pastourelle 10. Rieschstadt Waltz
It has a makers name plate and the tune titles are hand written on a
label. No other markings can be seen. I have not seen the instrument,
the above information has been relayed to me by the owner.
Does any one have any info on this instrument, date of manufacture and
tuning details?. Anything about the manufacturer, etc.?
Thank you
