Ellsworth Johnson of Spokane, WA
By Ed Chaban
I was wondering if anyone can tell me something about a gentleman
named Ellsworth Johnson. The reason I'm asking is that I think he
owned my piano at one time.
I did some looking with a couple of Internet search engines and
discovered that he is/was a radio and theatre organ enthusiast.
Apparently he donated a 9' grand piano to Marta Beckett's Amargosa
Opera House at Death Valley Junction. I was thrilled to hear that
because Marta Beckett exemplifies the kind of unpretentious eccentric
genius that brought me into this hobby in the first place (even though
she has nothing to do with mechanical music per se).

Anyway, I know Mr. Johnson is much older than me. Is he still living?
Could someone put me in touch with him? I'd like him to know that his
piano is owned by someone who appreciates it. I'm also hoping he can
tell me more about it's history and any other bits of information he
thinks a lover of music and technology should know. I can't help but
think that someone with his interests would be a wealth of information
that should be shared with future generations.
Thanks in advance.
