Gulbransen Player With Rubber Pouch Valves
By Kim Bunker

[ Kim installed a new pneumatic action (with his customer's
[ approval) only to discover that the rubber pouch valves need
[ much greater suction than the existing foot pump can easily
 [ provide. -- Robbie

Here is a update on the Gulbransen replaced stack. The client
understood, going into this restoration, that some modification had
to take place (because of the reduced price for replacing the stack
instead of rebuilding it). So this week, nearly two years after the
initial contract was completed, we agreed to electrify the system
(at no charge to our customer) thus adding more vacuum pressure to
alleviate the problem of the oversized bleeds in the plastic
pneumatics. Now things seem to be to okay.

I guess the point I was trying to make in my previous letter about
this plastic pneumatic and rubber pouched system was (1) Be very
careful when choosing a supplier of pneumatics, especially in this
field; (2) Use pneumatics and pouches made the old fashioned way,
out of wood, leather and cloth -- no plastic or rubber; (3) Know
the supplier's product limitations and, last of all, (4) always get
their warranty in writing. Your customer will appreciate your
professionalism far more. Thanks for now.

Sincerely
Kim Bunker
