Once again I am pleased to bring to everyone's attention the journal
"Vox Humana" published by Mechanical Organ Owners' Society (MOOS) of
Great Britain. Every issue has great information regarding MIDI and
mechanical organs.
The latest issue, Winter/Spring edition, has 30 pages and two great
articles on MIDI. One, titled "PC's, MIDI, Cakewalk and the Black Art
of computer-aided organ music", by Ken Slow, is well written, starting
at the very beginning of MIDI and walks you through all the various
models of PC's right to the latest Windows XP and how Cakewalk and
IDFedit can quickly help you get into gear.
Also in the same issue you will find "A computer controlled music
punching machine" by Bob Essex, again well written with web sites for
you to follow up on.
Another great article is "Electrical Information". This covers the
correct code of electrical requirements in England but also works for
us folks over here in the America's. Every day new requirements must
be met before you can plug in to the power supply.
These three articles are worth more then the UKP 12.00 membership for
one year. Contact Mark Jefford Membership Secretary at
