Violano Roll 2435 To Be Recut
By John J. Breen

In the past three years, I have succeeded in collecting about 90 rolls
for my Violano. Some of these are originals, and about a third are
recuts.

Of all these rolls, one original stands out as the one I use when
people come over to hear the object of my strange addiction. It has
excellent arrangements of the violin, with multiple strings playing
throughout most of the roll (and not just duplicating each other like
on many Violano rolls). In addition, it is an all-waltz roll, so the
music is something that is middle of the road enough to satisfy any
listener.

This roll shows off the capabilities of a late style machine better
than any other roll in my collection (with the #2704 roll that I got
from Dick Hack coming in a close second). This is also the roll that
I bring with me when I visit another Violano owner because it can be
such a stellar performance if the machine is properly adjusted. The
song titles on it are "I Wonder What's Become of Sally", "All Alone",
"Haunting Melody", "Old Pal" and "Dreamer of Dreams".

The reason I am posting this message is to let everyone know that
I shipped this roll out to be re-cut last week. Dick Hack should
have it available very soon, since I have been promised that my roll
will be returned quickly so I won't be without it for an important
demonstration I will be giving in about 2 weeks. I strongly recommend
this roll to every Violano owner. Contact Dick if you are interested
in a copy.
