Removing RealPlayer (for RealAudio Files)

You need to go one step beyond Robbie's recommendation for changing
the assignment to file extensions; it's just too difficult to modify
the assignments. What is easiest to do is delete the assignment for
MP3 type audio files altogether. The next time you double click on
an MP3 file, you will be prompted to choose the program you wish to
use to open the MP3 file. Click browse and find the file that will
play the MP3.
The easiest way to find the file location and name for the MP3 player
you want to use is to right click its icon on the desktop and select
"Properties". You will find the path and file name there. Use that
information to select the response above.
