Rodents in Pipe Organ
By Bruce Clark

Yesterday, I was asked by our local historical society to check their
1850's pipe organ and see what repairs might be needed.

I was horrified to find that squirrels or chipmunks had found their way
into the building and had been storing nuts and acorns inside the organ
and pipes. Also they had been chewing at the leather corners of the
reservoir to a point where it is now leaking badly.

Does anyone have suggestions to keep these rodents out of the building?
It is a large building and very old. We are not sure how they are
getting in.

Does anyone know if the modern electronic devices to drive small
animals out are effective?
