Piano Rolls at Antique Shops
By Larry Mayo

When I see rolls in antique stores, I offer the dealers a flat
one-dollar-a-roll, regardless of their price. If the owners want to
stick to their price, I demand a guarantee that all of them have been
played by them, and are good. They usually come down.

I tell them that a batch price usually presumes that many of the rolls
are useless, and you are really paying for the quantity that is good.
