Wurlitzer 4-in-1 Pot Metal Valves
By Jack Stevens

I am restoring a late model Wurlitzer 148 band organ. It has the
pot metal "4 in 1" valve boxes described by Art Reblitz as "usually
cracked beyond repair." This engenders some anxiety, although those
on my instrument (with the possible exception of one) seem sound.

My questions are two: (1) How do I get these guys off the distribution
board so that I can get to the valves without "cracking them beyond
repair", and (2) In case disaster occurs, does anyone have any valves
for sale? Hope someone can help me.
