Dear Robbie: To respond to your question posed in today's edition
of MMD, the only avant-garde pianist who recorded for the Pianocorder
System was Chick Corea. All of the rest were very traditional artists.
Oscar Peterson's cassette is still very much available.
However, Oscar Peterson is a recognized jazz artist with (I'd think)
a far larger traditional jazz following than Thelonious Monk.
Other well-known artists who can still be found in the Contemporary
Artists' category include Roger Williams, George Shearing, Liberace,
Johnny Guarnieri, Peter Nero, Steve Allen, Floyd Cramer, the Paratore
Brothers, Teddy Wilson, and Dick Hyman.
Regards,
Bob Baker
[ Thanks. It was Oscar Peterson who I couldn't remember. -- Robbie
