I've been reading back and forth about different punching machines and
that they would be quite easy to build. I do, however, have my doubts,
not only about the construction, but also about the machines accuracy
and its 'lifetime'.
I don't write this to kick off yet another thread about that, but for
now I say, "<sigh> It can't be any worse than without!"
Yet I currently do not feel able to build one of my own. Not only
because I'm not much into reading instructions, but also because I'm
fairly new to the place where I live right now and I wouldn't be able
to obtain most pieces. (Fine, they could as well be shipped, but...)
The more demoralising fact is that I currently have no "lab" for doing
either electro-works nor other constructions with fine tuning. As I
don't just want to build it on the kitchen table, I therefore ask _you_
if you can help me out. Quite a few MMDers already have built one;
maybe one of them finds himself a heart to help me out.
I'm being honest that I'm not gonna pay the world for that, so if you
come up with something like 20$ per labor hour I will have to pass.
Requirements:
- a fine stepper, as my arrangements are very precise, but not
necessarily "lined-up";
- re-adjustable between 20er and 31er roll systems (I'd prefer if
it's even 32-note, just in case);
- all of that in a nice little box sent to Canada;
- soon! :-)
So, ... anyone?
