As of last night MMDigest is emailed to 1145 subscriber addresses.
That's not much more than one year ago, so I guess we're stabilized
now.  One aspect of note: the percentage of subscribers in lands beyond
North America continues to increase slowly.  I'm proud of that.

Jody is presently working on the pile of correspondence and contributions
sent to MMD.  Many contributions have arrived via electronic transfer
(PayPal), and I will shortly send acknowledgements and thanks via email
to these donors.  Then I must organize the telephone bills on _my_ desk
and get them to Jody for reimbursement.

Our expenses are mostly for communications services and computers.  The
Foxtail computer, which does the emailing each day and hosts the MMD web
site, operates continuously.  It's owned by the Foxtail Group and the
hard disk drives need annual replacement.  And, as industry knows well,
a continuously operating computer eventually suffers from the vibration
of the fans, typically after three to five years of normal operation,
but more frequently in continuous service.  That's when cracks develop
in the printed circuit cards, and tiny wires within the integrated
circuits shake loose!  Then it's time to buy a new computer.

It's a good thing that Jody and I are both patient, because we both
procrastinate over money matters; the music and technology is much
more fun...  Maybe next year we'll resolve to improve our ways!  ;-)
