Calliope on TV "Black Sheep Squadron"
By Bill Flynt

Several months ago, I ran across a re-run episode of the "Black Sheep
Squadron" on TV, in which a Tangley replica (wooden organ pipes instead
of brass whistles) appeared in the background of a canteen-like setting,
along with a Wurlitzer juke box. The time era is World War II.

Why should there be a calliope in the South Pacific? Was it supposed
to represent a "pipe organ" in a chapel for the troops there? I've
been watching the series, and I haven't seen it since. Fortunately,
I was able to capture a little snippet of this scene on videotape,
about five seconds in length. Does anyone know about this?
